Professionals who make their living using specialty scissors and shears are unique. Perfectly balanced and sharp tools are essential and a joy to use. Unlike knives and scalpels the complexity of scissors makes care and maintenance much more complicated.
After 40 years of professionally using scissors I retired only to be drawn into the world of scissor design and repair.
Now I provide scissor and shear sharpening and resetting to those who use scissors to cut hair, fur and tissue
Services
I come to your business in the greater Portland area and pick up the scissors. I am happy to provide loaner scissors, pet grooming shears and no line blenders to allow you to keep working without delay. My shop is the best place for me to work and take the time to do the job right without the time constraints of working in a van in your parking lot.
I generally return the scissors the next day.
I give a 14 day period to allow you to check the quality of the sharpening and during that period if you aren’t satisfied I will return and redo the process. Occasionally, shears that are out of set require bending and even in good quality steel some memory may remain and the shears warp back.It can usually be fixed.

I have access to several lines of shears for humans and pets. Given the crazy international tariff scene I am unsure how the near future will play out. Using the loaner scissors will be the best way for you to decide if you wish to purchase them. The prices, no doubt, will fluctuate.
